Landlord-Tenant

It seems like every year your rent goes up and your expectations as a renter are forced lower.

Apartment for Rent

New York has some of the strongest tenant protections anywhere in the country, but the vast majority of renters don't know their rights as lessors or their options for enforcing them.

You have the right to quiet enjoyment of a safe, secure, clean, accessible and habitable apartment.

Rent increases are strictly limited if your apartment is rent stabilized or subject to the Good Cause Eviction Law, and even if your apartment is unregulated your landlord must give you 30-60 days notice in writing if they intend to raise your rent over 5% or will not be renewing your lease.

Further, your landlord must return your entire security deposit unless they provide you with an itemized list of claimed damages within 30 days of vacating, and give you a reasonable opportunity to dispute their claims.

Reach out today and make sure that your rights are being protected.
