Fee Arrangements
We strive for transparency and fairness with our valued clients.

While some complex matters may necessitate a retainer fee up front, we can in many cases accommodate a contingent fee or hybrid contingent fee agreement.
This means that, if successful, you will pay us out of your award or settlement. New York state law limits contingent fees to 33% of the total award or settlement.

All criminal cases require a retainer fee. This is because New York state law prohibits contingent fees in criminal matters.

There will in most cases be administrative costs incurred during the course of litigation. These costs may include:

-
Court filing fees
-
Deposition fees
-
Expert witness fees
-
Travel expenses
-
Investigation
-
Postage
-
Copies
-
Fees for obtaining records

These costs must be paid by the client, and they are generally not paid to the attorney but to various third parties. You may elect to pay costs as they are incurred, or to defer them to be deducted from your prospective settlement or award.
Please be aware that there is an element of risk to all legal proceedings, and these administrative costs must be paid even if your case is unsuccessful.
